Preparation

Registration begins well before the appointment date. The deed is drafted, the schedule of property is confirmed and the stamp duty position is worked out based on the nature of the instrument.

At the Sub-Registrar office

Parties attend with identification and witnesses, the document is presented, and execution is completed as per procedure. The registered document is collected subsequently.

After registration

Khata transfer, property tax updation and intimation to the relevant authorities or associations typically follow. The exact steps depend on the property and the local authority concerned.
